*** The Story of Paper ***

On March 31st, 2010 we released an app named Litho Shop which began with the phrase, "No need for Paper!" Litho Shop is a mildly complex app with real paper textures and design tools.

By 2012 we began working on a pure, simple, inclusive app to be the polar opposite, we decided to give it the most basic of names, Paper. The poetry was not accidental. Paper would be the opposite of Litho Shop.

We followed Apples Rules, that is, we went into our Developer account and created the App "Paper". The name Paper was assigned to us by Apple as NO ONE ELSE was using it. We worked on and submitted the app within Apples given timeline and guidelines.

While working over many months, as is the norm, other apps with "Paper" in their name came and went. How? Do to glitches in Apples system. A Developer can add extra words to an un-available name, or game the territory settings to give the illusion of apps of the same name, and even change the name of an older app and enjoy what looks like an earlier first use.

Well, there may still be others around, or maybe theyve moved on with another name, either way, welcome to the 1st, and what should be the only, iOS Paper.

Pros and cons of Paper app for iPhone and iPad

Paper app good for

I like this app, Paper, because of its simplicity: it provides a quick and easy surface to sketch basic ideas or to finish the drawing, if desired. The choices of Paper are unique, colors unlimited and the tools meet my needs...almost. However, switching between tools is a hassle-they load too slowly, and unless I am missing something, where is the blending tool? These are reasons, my review delivers four stars...generous of me.

... oh yes, and very precise in use. :-) However, at the top of the screen is an "i", like information, but it doesnt do anything on my iPad. Also a "+" that leads nowhere. Four stars anyway though.

It never crashes, its intuitive, fun to use. One of my favorite apps.

This is a GREAT app :) by all means it is worth the money. The accuracy is phenomenal!

Love the simplicity. Pop ups sometimes not responding. Bit wonky. Overall lots of fun!

Some bad moments

Presently not working very well with iPhone 5S. I have only a dark screen and I dont know exactly what the problem because I cant resolve it. But without that Paper is a nice app et and very easy to use. Await an update.

I paint on this app every morning! Like a little devotion, I look out the window and echo the colors and shapes. The possibilities seem nearly endless with regards to colors. The brush options are good. I like that I can undo my strokes. The brush tools dont always respond on the first tap, other than that, my new favorite way to relax.

Lets you get your ideas on Paper (recorded on iPad) for future reference. otherwise, my bright ideas go onto Paper and I lose track of them. This tool lets you play with the overall design of the look you want. I have used it for a barrel composter, a under kitchen cabinet bread box with tambour door, and a cantilevered sub-irrigation garden box with useful results I can print.

crashes alot. could not find settings or help. no support on developer site. the "i" button in the upper right does nothing? no apparent functions, to save, email, etc.

Very, very, very clean lines, super smooth design, just a superb paint and note app. Wildly easy to use, but there are instructions right in there if you need them. Just a great little app.

Really nice App. Does what it says it will. 1 wish. That you could e-mail a copy of what you wrote or ICloud to other devices. Besides this, works great.
